Have you ever thought “gee, they should make a reality TV show about my job”? Every industry and field has its fair share of funny, crazy and impactful experiences. The hospitality industry is certainly no exception. I’ve been told that I should write down all of my stories from working in hospitality management and make a book. It’s no lie. I could entertain for HOURS with the stories I could tell. It’s not just the outrageous or shocking. It’s the funny, the sweet and the meaningful moments that make up my mosaic of experiences. I’ve been a part of marriage proposals, helped brides put on their dresses and even set-up a memorable backdrop for wife announcing her pregnancy to her husband. These are the moments that bring me to tears, in a good way! I’ve also experienced the silly moments, been part of practical joke set-ups, and in the middle of many inside jokes. I’ve seen the absurd (File this under: Most Bizarre Item Left Behind). I’ve heard things most humans don’t desire to hear. I’ve also witnessed the not-so-good moments of people, but all of this goes into the learning and developing myself into the human that I am today. Which leads me this question: Why not make memories? Why not experience new places and situations? Why not continue to grow and build yourself? Travel. Create those moments. Create stories to tell. Live life the way we’re meant to!
